About Druk Umami

Umami was founded in 2022 by Tshering Yangzom and our journey began with a longing for the savory delight of Balichow, inspired by fond memories from Kalimpong, India. Enchanted by the flavors brought by her friends from Burma, Tshering embarked on a mission to recreate the magic of Balichow in her home country, Bhutan. Through meticulous experimentation, she perfected the recipe, capturing the essence of umami and spice.
